Peace Portal was a field work developed during my residency at Laka, an Indigenous Pacific-centred art space in Onehunga. Invited by Susana Lei’ataua, I created a divination tool that became a site for “Sounding New Beginnings,” where my singing voice emerged publicly for the first time in dialogue with community, field, and cello. Through gatherings under the Portal, we explored sound as a way of broadcasting peace and activating cycles of renewal.
